The Latest from Sherrilyn Kenyon

Have you been waiting for a new novel in the Dream-Hunters (Dark-Hunters) series?  Have you been anticipating, thinking about, dreaming about and wondering what was going to happen next?  Then get ready D-H and Sherrilyn Kenyon fans because The Guardian hit shelves today!
As a Dream-Hunter, Lydia has been charged with the most sacred and dangerous of missions. She’s to descend into the Nether Realm and find the missing god of dreams before he betrays the secrets that could kill all of them. What she never expects is to be taken prisoner by the Realm’s most vicious guardian.

Seth’s time is running out. If he can’t hand over the key to Olympus and the heart of Zeus, then his own life and soul will be forfeit. No matter the torture, he hasn’t been able to break the god in his custody. But when a rescuer appears, he decides to try a new tactic.

When these two lock wills, one of them must give. But Lydia isn’t just guarding the gates of Olympus, she’s holding back the darkest of powers. If she fails, an ancient evil will roam the earth once more and no one... [from www.sherrilynkenyon.com]

We’ve been waiting for it since the summer when Retribution came out and we were immersed in Sundown and Abby’s story, anxious and impatient to discover what else was happening in the world that Sherrilyn makes for us.  Now with The Guardian coming out we are again given a glimpse into the realms and worlds of SK’s imagination and the mythology, history, and current world that we find.

I, for one, will be grabbing my copy as soon as I can.  Because of all the paranormal and fantasy series that I read, SK’s Dark-Hunters, Dream-Hunters and Were-Hunters are the closest to my heart and the most deeply entrenched in my imagination.

Paranormal Reading in October

            A Hunger Like No Other
            No Rest for the Wicked
Wicked Deeds on a Winter’s Night
            Dark Needs at Night’s Edge
            Dark Desires After Dusk
            Kiss of a Demon King
            Pleasure of a Dark Prince
            Demon From the Dark
            Dreams of a Dark Warrior
All these titles are part of the Immortals After Dark series.  There are a couple more titles that flush out the list but these are the 9 books from the series that I myself own.  It’s an amazing series.  Each of the stories are incredibly done and by themselves are great… Within the whole, and following the over-arching story line, they’re unbelievable- in all the best ways.  With Valykrie, Demons, Vampires, Werewolves, Shapeshifters, Witches, Sorceri and more, Kresley Cole has created a world of undeniably amazing characters, interesting plots complete with twists and turns, and through it all wonderful love stories.
            Dragon Bound
            Storm’s Heart
            Serpent’s Kiss

I found Dragon Bound awhile ago, shortly after it first came out I think.  From the moment I started reading I was falling in love with the world of the Elder Races that Harrison was creating.  I knew that I was going to have to keep my eyes open and watch for the books that would follow.  Recently I tracked down the second and third books and I’m still reeling.

The world and Otherworld’s that Thea has used and created for this series is so colorful and rich, and the mythology that she’s incorporated into the story – without strictly using the mythology as a base – makes these stories just that much more interesting for me.  I really do recommend these books (and any more that might be slated to come out) to everyone who like reading paranormal/fantasy stories.  With dragons, gryphons, thunderbirds, Fae, elves, vampires, medusas, oracles, witches, ghouls, goblins, trolls and other fantastical and mythological creatures, these stories are stellar picks that I don’t think readers will be able to help but love.

            The Lord of the Wolfyn

Third in the Harlequin Royal House of Shadows series, Andersen tells a wonderful story about a lost prince transformed, a disheartened woman looking to belong, a kingdom in need of saving.  With Showalter, Monroe and Singh, the Royal House of Shadows series is becoming just as amazing as was advertised.  Which you know, is awesome and makes me impossibly happy.  As always I recommend the books in this series because they tell beautiful stories and I promise, you will not be disappointed.

Check back with me in a few days when I’ll be announcing the winner of the Halloween Blog Hop contest.  Have an awesome day and I hope that November is as friendly to us as October was.

Tuesdays Tunes: All to Myself

The first thing I want to say is that I hope everyone had a really awesome Halloween and that you all survived the candy rush and sugar high that comes with the holiday!  Now on to other things….
Tuesdays Tunes!!!
I love this song.  I really do.
But this week’s Tuesdays Tune comes to you, not in the form of an awesomely thought provoking song, or a song laden in emotion and suppressed desires… No this weeks TT comes to you because, honestly, since the first time I saw this video (and this was ages ago) every time I hear the song, see the video or really even think about Marianas Trench, I have to giggle.
And okay, so maybe that’s not the best reason to spout my opinions of music, life or whatever at you, and yeah really it’s not, but seriously people WATCH THIS VIDEO and then tell me that you don’t giggle too.
It’s the very ending that gets me every time.  You have to watch it to get why I snicker and laugh like a lunatic.
Or maybe I just do that cause I’m crazy?…
What ever the case may be, I hope you like this week’s Tuesdays Tune:
Marianas Trench ‘All To Myself’
