I went to this movie with my family and some of Princess's friends for her 11th birthday party. She was absolutely determined that this was what she had to see, what she wanted to take her friends to see. I'm not sure what her reasoning was but I am really glad that Tomorrowland is what she chose.
We've tried to raise our children to believe in the impossible, to accept that some things are unexplainable, and to understand that we (as a society and culture) do not know all the answers. We introduce and encourage the kids to imagine and dream. We watch and read sci-fi, fantasy, futuristic, historical, mythological, and etc. with them and try to foster in them the ability to look for more than the expected in all things. Which, essentially, is what Tomorrowland is all about.
We loved it. And just like my newly-turned 11-year old is desperately waiting for her letter from Hogwarts, she is now also hopeful that someday she'll get her pin and get to go to Tomorrowland.
